Mission Statement

Academic Flight LLC bridges the gap between the operational pilot community and the flight test engineering community. We bring them together with the goal to increase understanding, performance, and safety in aviation. We also assist pilots and engineers in transitioning professionally from one field to the other: operational pilots learning the technical aspects of flight test engineering and becoming test pilots, and flight test engineers (FTEs) learning to fly in a format that makes optimal use of their technical background—in order to perform their roles better as FTEs and one day perhaps to start their own pilot careers. Finally, our ambitious youth mentorship program aims to launch the next generation of avid aviators on both the piloting and engineering tracks simultaneously from the beginning.
