Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT)

In this industrial-strength UPRT course, you will learn to understand aircraft behavior in any attitude and how to recover from upset and out-of-control situations. Upset recovery is a highly technical subject with lots of theory if taught well. Thorough understanding coupled with situational awareness reduces the part of the envelope, which the pilot perceives as out of control. And the pilot must be able to transfer his experiences from the aerobatic trainer used to the airplane she/he flies in everyday life, which may have different flight characteristics, in particular near the edge of the performance envelope.

Spin Training

This course comes in multiple flavors depending on customer preference. The most hardcore version covers the full theoretical treatment according to USAF TPS Textbooks and some aerospace engineering literature like Babister (1961), as well as practical applications. The simplest and briefest version omits most of the theory and merely drills the PARE spin recovery acronym into your head. Spin endorsements for CFI candidates are available after rigorous theoretical education and practical training.

Engine Failure after Takeoff Turnaround Maneuver Course

Based on research publications by Jett, Rogers, and others, as well as using our own flight test data, calculations, and real-life training videos featuring our own students, we offer one of the most thorough courses on the subject of engine failure after takeoff in a single-engine airplane. If you take the associated flight lab as well, as a capstone exercise you will get to practice this maneuver on a narrow 2200-foot-long runway to give you confidence to pull off this last-resort maneuver at any airport, no matter how small.

Competition Aerobatics

We offer an introduction to competition aerobatics in the Primary and Sportsman Category, and free referrals to very experienced aerobatics coaches capable of training you to win competitions up to the Intermediate Category (or Advanced Category if you bring your own airplane suitable for the task).
