Collective Announcements

IMPORTANT CHANGE TO PRIVATE PILOT GROUND SCHOOL SCHEDULE. PLEASE READ. Mondays start newly at 7pm EDT, not 7:30pm EDT. They will NOT be repeat sessions of Sundays any longer, but instead a continuation (with a brief recap of Sunday). Recordings will typically be provided for those who missed a Sunday or Monday session. Since the sessions do not necessarily build on each other, missing a session is not a big problem.

Next upcoming online events of each type:

  • Online Private Pilot Ground School (PPGS):
Sunday, May 5, 9pm EDT & Monday, May 6, 7:00pm EDT (newly NOT identical sessions, but rather a continuation; attend both if you can). PPGS resumes! We will do specific FAA Knowledge Test prep in May and June for the upcoming Cadet Wings applications due on July 1. Live Class Connection Info: Standard MS Teams link (if you do not have it, register here).
  • Aerospace and STEM Education Course Series:
Tuesday, May 7, 2024, 7:30pm EDT. Second lecture of this new course series, explaining to you how to work through CAP’s 30 Days Lost in Space Kit, . We will cover Days (Lessons) 1, 2, and 3. You are expected to work through these on your own before class with the kit’s instructional videos. Study assistance is provided on this page. Live Class Connection Info: Same standard MS Teams link (if you do not have it, register here).
  • Special Lectures: Q&A Sessions with Professionals
Wednesdays 7:00pm EDT (but sometimes also other weekdays and times). Several special Q&A Sessions with Professionals are scheduled for the month of May, organized by Melanie Maestre. Please see registration form at the bottom of this page for dates and times. See also the Opa-Locka Cadet Squadron Unit Calendar of the Civil Air Patrol. The Q&A sessions are for CAP Members and the general public.

More detailed announcements may be found on the pages linked below, describing the three individual types of events.

We highly recommend it for general education and universal competence building. It also serves as a prerequisite for some of our more advanced courses.

This link is individual for every special lecture and different from the standard MS Teams link / Meeting ID used for our two regular events above.
