Multi Engine Rating
Earn a Multi Engine Rating on Your Private, Commercial Pilot, and/or Flight Instructor Certificate
with one of our Multi Engine Courses
Multi Engine Rating Introduction
Let us help you become a multi engine pilot/instructor with one of our courses listed below. We offer courses to add a multi engine rating to your existing commercial (or private) pilot certificate. If you desire to get your commercial pilot certificate directly in a multiengine airplane, we offer an initial commercial course.
For CFIs wishing to add multi engine capability, we offer an MEI course and a combined multi engine add-on / MEI course (the latter for CFIs who do not hold a multi engine rating on their commercial pilot certificate yet).
Our multi engine rating courses last 3-5 days. We do not abbreviate, the courses are just very intense. The flights will be conducted in a Piper PA-44-180 Seminole, equipped with a Garmin 500 PFD/MFD and a Garmin GTN 650 GPS. We will not put you into the airplane until your procedures are rehearsed enough in an AATD.
Links to resources are at the bottom of this page, ranging from FAA handbooks to test pilot school textbooks and the ACS for your multi engine checkride.
Multi Engine Ground School
All our multi engine flight training courses come with free complementary access to our rigorous multi engine ground school based on FAA handbooks and test pilot school textbooks. Our ground school is also available for purchase as a stand-alone online course.

Unique Training Features
These features distinguish our courses from most of our esteemed colleagues:
Unlimited free access to our Redbird MCX Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD) throughout your multi engine rating course. Saves flight time, increases success rate, and enhances multi engine training quality by enabling emergency scenario simulation immediately after liftoff near the ground. Also, counts towards the 1500 hours required for ATP (up to 25 hours).
Our signature multi engine ground school ranging from the necessary basics to the rigorous treatment in the USAF Test Pilot School and US Naval Test Pilot School textbooks. We will keep it simple or dive deep into the details – at your own discretion.
- No waiting list! Not only can you start your multi engine training with us (almost) immediately, you will also be able to reschedule your training with us easily if the weather does not cooperate.
