In this online flight test engineering course you will implement flight test engineering calculations in Python, and write data analysis code for data reduction and data expansion. You will also learn how to use Python to interface your codes with a joystick and with the commercial flight simulator software X-Plane, using the X-Plane Connect (XPC) library developed by NASA. In addition, you will write your own Python flight test telemetry display software using starter code we provide, which will enable to you visualize flight test data in real time. Finally, you will also learn the basics of how to code a simple Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS), including supplying it with sensor data using Kalman filters and sensor fusion for position and attitude information.

This Flight Test Engineering in Python course is under development and will launch in 2025.
